On the Sunday before last (June 3rd), I received the following message on Facebook…
Hi Chris,
My name is Judy (not her real name) and I was informed by my friend about your healing ministry. I live in San Diego also and my daughter…(has) Cerebral Palsy and she may need another surgery to loosen her tendons and anything else necessary. Please contact me…(619) xxx-xxxx. I believe in the healing power of Jesus, who is my Savior! God Bless you Chris and I really look forward to hearing from you.
I met Judy and her adult daughter at a coffee shop this last Sunday. Immediately, I could tell there was something special about this family. Maybe it was the obvious presence of the Holy Spirit…all I know is that normally, when I feel this, something happens; this day was no exception.
After asking all the normal questions about the infirmity, I discovered that Judy’s daughter cannot move her right foot. She can move it at the ankle, but can do nothing below the ankle. Actually, her entire right side is affected in different ways.
We began praying. We declared healing in the name of Jesus and I commanded the cerebral palsy to leave in Jesus’ name. My hands were on her hands during the prayer and I could feel a moderate amount of muscle spasm occurring in her right arm.
Me:
Let’s test it out! Try moving your foot.
Judy’s daughter began spreading her toes! She didn’t spread them far, but enough to cause my jaw to drop.
Me:
Were you able to do that before?
Daughter:
No!
I saw Judy’s eyes get watery, but really all three of us were blown-away.
Daughter:
When I get my pedicure, they have to spread my toes for me…I normally can’t do it!
Me:
Can you wiggle your toes?
Judy and I then watched her daughter begin to slowly move her toes in a similar way (like a person would clinch a fist). We sat around the table with smiles on our faces. It was exciting.
Later, we went outside to compare her legs. One foot was turned in, making it nearly impossible for me to compare the two when the legs were extended. I declared healing in the legs, and as we began to talk, the legs almost perfectly matched. This was astounding to me because it was initially very difficult to see the difference in length with the way her right leg turned-in.
I wish that was the end of the story, but today I received a text from Judy that all of the improvements have vanished. Sadly, this is not an uncommon thing for me to hear. Why? Scripture makes it clear that there is a spiritual battle being waged…
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12).
The good news is that the healing that was stolen can be restored. The enemy does not want a testimony and therefore often wants to test our resolve to bring the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. When someone puts a DEMAND on healing by continuing to declare the Kingdom (in this case healing) in Jesus’ name, often victory is restored.
I offered to meet again…Hopefully Judy and her daughter will take me up on it. The good news is that the memory of what her daughter experienced can never be taken away. For the first time in her entire life she was able to move her toes! How can she forget that?
