A referral experiences healing power

Paul

Two days ago, I received the following voice message…

Hi Chris.  My name is Paul. We have a mutual friend named Justin that recommended I call you.  I broke my hand. If you are available I’d like to see you for that…

We met yesterday at Mission Beach in front of the Big Dipper Roller Coaster to pray.  This kind of referral is a favorite of mine.  I love when I have never seen the person I am going to pray for.  We are both simply trusting that God is going to honor our faith and do something great.

Paul offered to take me to lunch first.  Since I only have so much will power, I jumped at the chance and we had a delicious lunch at Luigi’s…my favorite restaurant in Mission Beach.  Our lunch was a great time of getting to know each other and to share our passion for the things of God.

His broken hand is in a cast that permits very little movement of his fingers.  Still, he was able to perform a movement that caused discomfort.  He said the pain was a 6 on a scale from 1 to 10.  We found an area on the bay side of the beach with very little foot-traffic and began to pray.

Virtually all of the bruising is gone.

We declared the healing power of Jesus over his broken hand.  Seeking authenticity, after each prayer I asked him to move his fingers and test the pain level.  After the first prayer there was no change whatsoever.  Then the pain progressively began decreasing with each subsequent prayer.  Suddenly, I noticed that the dark bruising across his knuckles virtually vanished.  The look on his face when he noticed the change in his knuckles was awesome!  We were both surprised by the difference.  The pain went all the way to barely over a 2 on a scale from 1 to 10…a 65% reduction in pain with an obvious change in bruising that we could see with our eyes!

Today was a faith-builder.  I celebrated by watching the sun set behind the Belmont Park coaster.
