When I saw the “before and after” pictures of this baby (Willow), I had to contact the mother to get the story. I especially love this story of God’s healing power because, as opposed to some religious extremist who (it could be argued) might have a reason to exaggerate, the mother told me that she does not live a “religious lifestyle” and acknowledges that miracles don’t happen to her. Either way, a picture is worth a thousand words.
These are the mother’s own words to me this evening…
When Willow was born (December 17, 2007), they took her away and I couldn’t see her. I was only allowed to get a glimpse of her. Later, when they brought her to me, I got to see her legs. I had doctors and surgeons and everyone in the hospital who was curious come to my room and see. I didn’t mind until one of the surgeons started pulling on her legs trying to stretch them and put them in place, EVEN THOUGH they had no idea what was wrong. Willow was screaming and crying her little head off; that’s when I snatched her away from the doctors and told them they did NOT have my permission to touch her ever again!!!! They were talking about having to do surgeries and breaking her legs to fix them. I got a little over-protective of her and told them “over my dead body” were they going to even see her.
I refused all surgeries–EVERYTHING. I told my family what I told the doctors and I was standing firm with ABSOLUTELY NO SURGERIES. So mom started a prayer circle with everyone we knew. 2 weeks later she (Willow) woke up screaming; one knee corrected itself. 5 days later the other one corrected itself. She was sore, but normal.

On her 6 weeks check up, I took her to my other daughter’s doctor who is a friend of the family and also goes to church with my family. I asked to have her knees checked, and he was confused at what I was saying so I showed him a picture of her when she was newly born. He couldn’t believe it. He did x-rays and everything was normal. Seeing her now, you would never believe unless you saw her baby pictures.
This healing miracle is obviously a medical impossibility. May this testimony encourage you to approach for the first time OR draw closer to the one who paid the ultimate price so that merciful miracles like this (and countless others) can occur through the power of his name.
“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and BY HIS WOUNDS WE ARE HEALED” (Isaiah 53:5).

Thank you for your comment Heather. I think I shouted when I first saw the pictures. Yesterday, I heard a sermon (online) from Bill Johnson where he gave a testimony about a church that recently fed an impossible number of people from very little food. Someone suggested dividing the food into very small portions, but another said, “No–Let’s see what God will do.” This impossible number of people were fed with food to spare.
I am so challenged by this! Would I have been the person to MAKE ROOM FOR GOD TO ACT? I’d like to say that I would, but at this stage of my life, I can’t say that with certainty.
May we all grow in our faith to make room for God to intervene in every area. The disciples were surprised when they couldn’t perform a breathtaking miracle (Matt 17:9, Mk 9:28); we should be too. Instead, we tend to be surprised when we DO perform a miracle!
May the supernatural power of Jesus become commonplace and expected in our lives.
Thank you Chris, for sharing our Abba Father’s wondrous works. I have been blessed to step out in faith to be used as an instrument of faith for the healings of my brothers and sisters in Christ. The first time I was so surprised, that someone had come to me, for prayer and laying on of hands, but I just believed the Lord and went with it. She was instantly healed of a fallen arch. What an incredible blessing. Right now though, I need prayer, for a broken leg, both the tibia and fibula, a herniated disc in my back and neck, and a terrible pain in my jaw, like it is fractured. I took a bad fall three weeks ago, and another one last week. I am also under spiritual attack from my siblings, and need them to repent and quit cursing me. My father blessed me with a larger inheritance then them, and their hate is tangible. Please pray for me. I know there is no distance in prayer. My dear brother Tim McHyde shared your site, when I asked for help.
