This entry is about the miraculous work of God in three people I prayed for this weekend: 1 Friday night and 2 Saturday afternoon.
Because of the healing and pain relief of 6 people in one day (last week), I decided to return to Mexico. Friday night, I met a man on crutches named Pedro who was hobbling across the street in a very dark and ”sketchy” area. I really didn’t want to go to that area, but my trip had not seemed to be fruitful up to this point, so I ran to where he was. I asked if I could pray for him and he consented.
You can see in the photo that his leg is completely bent. It seems impossible for a person to be able to walk on that leg (and I guess through crutches he doesn’t).
After praying, I asked him what he felt. Because of my poor spanish comprehension, I was unable to understand 98% of what he said, but he motioned his fingers in a way that let me know that SOMETHING was definitely happening in his leg! The only sentence I understood was “No mas dolor” (no more pain). Because he seemed to have so much to say, I called a friend and had Pedro leave a voice message for them in spanish so that I could later have someone translate his words. Here is the translation…
My name is Pedro. A man named Chris, whom I just met, called out to me as I was walking down a dark alley. I was going to grab a bag from the trash because I was hungry and looking for something to eat. Chris called to me and asked if I wanted to be healed and I said yes. He also asked if I believed in God.
I told him that my foot is bad and that I am in a lot of pain. He asked if I believed that my foot could be healed and I said yes. He said God could heal my foot.
Before he started praying, my foot was in a lot of pain. He touched my foot as he was praying and my foot relaxed…I felt healing and the pain went away. I gave thanks to him and to God. Bye.
Because I have been getting coaching from men and women who are experienced in spiritual gifting, I have asked a couple of them their opinion about why some are getting completely healed (like Connie, the woman who was healed last week), others partial healing, and others experience significant pain relief. The consensus appears to be something along the lines of “Don’t worry about it. You can’t take credit when it happens and you can’t take credit when it doesn’t happen.” My job is to be obedient by praying and leave the rest to God (Matthew 10:8, Luke 9:2, Luke 10:9). My friend Les told me today that we often don’t see the end result of our prayer. Pedro, for example, might be completely healed from a process that was initiated with that prayer. After all, based on his reaction, there was CLEARLY something happening to his leg.
The next day proved to be even more exciting. My friend Louie (the guy who went to the mortuary with me to raise the dead) and I went to the mall to look for the sick (crutches, casts, wheelchairs, etc.). Inside of a Target store, we found an elderly woman in a motorized cart. We asked if we could pray for her and she consented.
This woman injured her knee while playing a game with her great grandson. As we prayed, her pain went from an eight to a five. Additionally, she gratefully showed that she was now able to move her knee more fluidly.
A few hours later (after I left the mall), Louie said that he ran into her in another store and she was out of the cart and WALKING AROUND. Louie quoted her as saying, “It feels a whole lot better!”
Later, we saw a woman (Alice) being pushed in a wheelchair by her husband (Rudy). After experiencing some rejection, we were delighted that Rudy seemed happy to have us pray for his wife. Alice was paralyzed from the waist down after a car accident four years ago.
We prayed.
Alice (surprised):
I’m feeling tingling in my feet…all the way to my toes!
Me:
Do you normally feel that?
Alice:
No.
Rudy leaned over the wheelchair.
Rudy:
Honey, you feel tingling?!
Rudy (to me):
She hasn’t felt anything in her legs since the accident.
Louie and I started getting excited!
Me:
Let’s pray for more!
We prayed again.
Alice:
I feel heat in my feet!
Me:
Both of them?
Alice:
Yes!
We got even more excited. As the reader may know (if you subscribe to this blog, or are familiar with healing), heat is a very common sensation as someone is experiencing healing.
Alice was very quiet when we met her, but now she was talking up a storm as she described every single sensation.
Rudy:
Nobody has prayed for us since the accident.
Me:
In four years?
Rudy:
Nobody.
Me:
Do you think God is telling you something?
Alice:
Yes.
Me:
What is He saying?
Alice:
Don’t lose faith.
Giving them my contact information, I asked that they keep me updated regarding her continued healing.
This evening, a dear friend (Amanda) from Orlando texted me.
Amanda:
I have had a headache for 5 hours…I think you should release some of that healing goodness to Florida!!

I texted her my prayer and Amanda responded:
This sounds weird…but when I read the text, I lifted my hands to the Lord and I felt as if someone touched my left hip (don’t know what that is about) and the headache immediately left! Haha…Wow! I’m amazed in Jesus’ awesomeness. Haha! I can’t believe I suffered for 5 hours!! Thank you soooo much! I can’t wait to go to sleep now!
